Hey Guys, nice to have you and Welcome to Underground Tel Aviv !
Q. Hi guys hope you’re both well, We are pleased to welcome you here. Tell us what’s going on with you these days?
A. Hello everyone, all good here, just back from some cool October shows and ready for the next steps, so we’re spending some days in studio to work on brand new music.
Q. What can you tell us about your latest EP ‘Impressum’ on Afterlife ? we think it’s awesome btw :-] ?
A. Nice to hear, we’re getting a lot of positive feedback and of course we’re so proud about our first Afterlife EP. In other recent interviews we mention “Inspired by the Ionian Sea” being a large part of the inspirations for the EP, our beloved Ionian sea, just 500m from our studio and the perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries.
Q. What is your workflow in the studio? how do you start a track for example?
A. Usually our first step is to look for the perfect instrument (synth) to use, then we build in the main groove and this is were we spend most time, for us it is the most important step making new track.
Q. Do you have any favourite gear / soft synth that you use in the studio ?
A. It’s too hard to mention a favourite instrument. There are so many awesome synths/gear nowadays and we go through all of them looking for the right one to use. Most of the time the sound from old/vintage instruments catch our ears.
Q. Who was your biggest influences at the beginning of your way?
A. We started DJ’in at the end of 90’s so big influence by early house music of Massive Attack and Moby. Since the first shows we noticed that our sets were more melodic and deep and that reason we decided to start producing in a similar way to created our sound we have today. But our influence don’t just come from the early house music but from classical, electronic and afro sounds.
Q. How is the underground scene in Italy?
A. There are a lot of good clubs/festivals in Italy now, from north to south and very interesting artists scheduling. But over the past 3-4 years some clubs have started to focus on the brand new artists as well, and that’s a good sign for the underground scene here.
Q. What can you tell us about your connection with Dixon and Tale Of Us and how it feels to be surrounded and supported by them?
A. We met Dixon some years ago and soon decided to send demos to his label, some months later we found him playing and supporting our tracks, and so the way to reach his labels became a little easier. We later had the chance to meet Kristian and Frank as well, and they all are nice guys, professional and so focused on their IV gem. Connecting with Tale of Us we did not have the opportunity to meet Matteo and Carmine and speak before sending demos to them. We only had the info@ email address so it was a nice surprise to see few weeks later Tale of Us playing the demos we sent and shortly after the EP was signed. The feeling of having the support from Dixon & Tale of Us gives us great confidence and drive to keep doing what we love and have our music side by side with other respected artists.
Q. How does it feels for you to be where you are now comparing to where you were two years ago and what can you point that brought you to the breakthrough you had this year?
A. It is a great feeling and also a very satisfying to see progression even just in 2017. We’ve worked very hard to reach these goals, delivering our best sound and focusing on the listener/dancer. A key drive for us to create a track and see people dancing and going crazy, this makes us so happy.
Q. What can you tell us about your plans for 2018?
A. Our plans for 2018 is to continue making and releasing music like we have, one EP is confirmed and will be with you all in early 2018. We also plan lots more gigs and hope to have the opportunity to come Tel Aviv and make you dance 🙂
