Highway of Regrets- Guy Mantzur & Khen [PlattenBank Records]

Releasing this September through the PlattenBank label- ”Highway of Regrets” by Guy Mantzur & Khen is an elevation to excellence. The boys from Israel know their music and how! I’m confronted by two of the most treasured talents; one of whom needs no introduction of his musical capabilities and the other a rising star in the dance music circuit. The collaboration here equals to awesome..

The title tune is a smooth shiny eloquence of riff memorability, the Bass line is silk and the string synthy quality in the release pervades ones ears with pleasurable goodness all new. Riding in melodic finesse throughout the 8 minutes, haunting Vocals wind around echoing in and out of range. It’s like taking a space flight to Venus, all bristling and beautiful…
On the flip, another Dj/ Producer making waves in the scene is Greek music innovator Stelios Vassiloudis and I’m quite happy to see him brandish a remix for the pack which starts off thick and whoops around like a freight train on your senses. The vibe just goes in to an edgy Techno zone. Pretty much stripping all that shine off and making it his stamp throwing in a shuddering Bass line, thumping along nicely with Vocals and some kinda swing groove making it a whole load more minimalistic. He adds a large amount of glistening intensity to it very different from the original..hell yeah!!
Overall, quite the spirited release. 🙂
