Bouthier Ft. Joe le Groove – 4 Words (Inc. Jos & Eli Remix) [Phonetic]

by September 27, 2014

From UK to the sunny landscapes of Perth, Bouthier has been blazing the fiery musical trail quite a few years now. And no less fired up, is this latest EP which consists of 3 exclusive edits titled- ”4 Words” Original Mix featuring the vocals of Joe le Groove. The pack throws in a Jos & Eli remix and a foot stamping Dub rework as well, which will soon see a release on Phonetic Recordings.
The original mix is exactly what one needs for a hyper Housey outing. With catchy vocalism which insists ”I love my House music” and everything in between, you know already there’s a lot of shuffling going down on the floor. The back bone of the track is made up of thumping beats and a trembling bass that’s aching to be heard on a quality soud system. A deep melodic pad lends it more character inside, very savvy, very funky, and I see a packed floor for this one.
Turning to the Jos & Eli remix, the work done on it is immediately apparent. The entire body of the track gets a underwater, underground moody feeling to it. The vocal gets a textured subdued veneer, plenty nice to the ears. They also add a chopping Bass shine, and bonky filtered rhythmic percolation.
Finishing up the pack, the Dub version of the title tune gets a real hypnotic touch over. There’s a subterranean spark in this version, an artistically forward thinking way in which one can look at the main track another way. But here’s where some confusion can abound, only in the manner which of the three, does one pick to put the needle on. Nice one!!
