UTA Podcast #037 – Amberoom [Ovum]

Amberoon is a project by house Dj veteran Ramin Nouyan, who has teamed up with production duo Hoffmann/Tur.

In the 90’s Ramin was resident dj and booker at one of germanys most influential house clubs ‘Rote Liebe’ and played all over germany
Including events such as Time Warp, Loveparade or Sonnemondsteme, retiring after his daughters birth.

Nevertheless he was still around organizing events or consulting brands and it was not by surprise he met Manuel Tur as both are living
in the same city.

Ramin was helping hand when Manuel started his label ‘Mild Pitch’ with two other friends, Langenberg and Dplay, and together they had
outstanding moments like label nights at Berghain or Robert Johnson and features in Magazines such as Groove or De:Bug.

But Ramin felt pretty uncomfortable in his own musical environment.
thats was the moment to talk to Manuel about something that was long overduo, starting an own project.

Manuel was already working with Adrian Hoffmann from Paskal & Urban Absolutes, who is located in Essen too.
as ‘Clavis’ they had some remarkable releases on Freerange.

So the tree of them met at Manuel’s studio, Starting to jam and very soon it became obvious there was a strong affinity.

That was when Amberoom was born!

Amberoom might be a new project still, but you definitely came across their two successful EP’s on Josh Wink’s Ovum label (Rhit + Minoo)
in 2017 or their current release on Andre Hommens These Eyes label (Orchesis EP).
Rhit was picked by Mixmag UK as their ‘Tune Of The Month’, airplay at BBC Radio, 1Live, FM4 and all releases got support from artists like Kolsch, Gilles Peterson, Keinemusik.
in April they premiere at Time Warp, one of the most acclaimed international events in the electronic music scene.
so as you’ve realized, there is a long story to tell about these guys already…
