Selador Showcase – The Second Wave [Selador]

by March 27, 2015

Clear the decks. The second instalment of Selador’s Showcase series has landed.

Gathering together some familiar label favourites alongside an array of exciting new talent, the album features ten exclusive tracks from some of the artists that will be spearheading the label over the coming months. And being the kind, considerate souls we are, we’ve split the album up into two easily digestible parts. The first of which is out on March 23rd.

Part 1 gets off to a flying start with the inimitable Piemont. The German duo have been stalwarts of the label from the very beginning and it’s great to have them back with a brand new original track. Entitled ‘You’, this little gem dishes up wave upon wave of classy house textures. It’s stylish and assured, effortlessly smooth and unmistakably Piemont. Just the way we like it.

Next in line it’s our great pleasure to welcome Third Son to our roster. The young Welsh wizard has been steadily making a name for himself with releases on Noir Music, Material & Suara amongst others and we’re very happy to be adding Selador to that impressive list. ‘How I Feel’ is a hypnotic slice of tech house. Dark and chilling in all the right places, it powers along with all the swagger of a young gun slinger. Fire!

Portuguese born, Berlin based producer Joal follows up his successful Climbers remix for the label next with the first of a handful of original productions we have lined up from him. ‘Tomorrow’ is a captivating serving of modern deep house which commandeers more than it’s fair share of otherworldly magic. Spell binding stuff.

Another new name we welcome into the fold, Jaap Ligthart weighs in next with ‘Tour De Jours’. A wonderfully restrained sophisticated piece of deep house that steadily creeps up on your when you least expect it, this serves as a prequel to his first fully fledged release for the label which is currently in the scheduling queue patiently waiting its turn. A tasty taster if you will 😉

And finally for Part 1, Berlin based Justin Massei returns after his debut on the first Showcase compilation with ‘Tell Them’, a solid gold specimen of proper house music. Full of infectious energy, driven by relentless synth stabs and employing a cheeky wee vocal sample, we dare you not to dance to this.

So then, 5 more beauties with which to impress your friends and generally elevate your social status.

Part 2 follows next week. Stand by.

Selador Recordings – 50 shades better than all the rest. Come and get some 😉
